Why this exists
The community talks past itself. There is a lot of toxicity and not much shared ground: few resources worth bothering with almost no neutral parties, and discussions that turn hostile before they get anywhere.
This is a small push the other way. Ask a plain question, let everyone answer once, and put the result in the open, so there is something real to point at instead of the loudest voice in the channel. The aim is bigger than any one poll: gather and curate resources the community can rely on, invite constructive criticism, and give people a reason to show up that is not a fight.
How it works
- Discord login. Signing in is only the one-vote-per-person boundary. The site reads your account id and display name, nothing else.
- One vote per account. You can change your vote while a poll is open. Some polls let you pick several options.
- Open results. Tallies are live on the page and downloadable as JSON and CSV. Aggregates only. Individual votes are never published.
Read more on the about page, or browse every poll.
More questions are coming. If there is something the community should weigh in on,
that is exactly what this is for. Suggest anything in the Discord forum, or DM @opalwtf on Discord.
